The outcome for this project was to create a set of three posters that could function as the start of a wayfinding and brand identity for a hardware store. The true goal for all of this to take three hardware appliances - in this case a staple gun, screwdriver, and hand shear - and reduce them down to their core shape so that could be easily identified at a small scale. To get to that point, I needed to truly understand their forms by doing a series of drawings - both traditional and digital - with each one become "simpler" while still sticking to key shapes and look of the objects. It was then a matter of choosing a typeface, color scheme, and creating the actual three posters.  

The original photographs of the objects with the ones on the far lefts being the ones that chose to work with.

The process of drawing and simplifying the objects along with making sure they can still be read as that object on a smaller scale.
