Taiwan is home to a diverse range of living species, many of which are threatened with extinction. Bird populations are gradually declining as a result of environmental changes, habitat destruction, illegal hunting, trading and other factors. Nine endangered Taiwanese bird species were chosen to recreate their chirping sounds in these bird flutes.
The design of each flute is inspired by one of the nine bird species and produces the euphonic rhythm of its representative bird species. Blowing into the tail of the bird flute activates the recording chip, which is connected to the speaker and triggers the bird sounds. When the air flow stops, the sounds also stop. Users can learn more about each bird species by connecting the app to the bird flute.
