Since its debut in 2015, the Apple Watch has established itself as a new kind of personal companion that can easily be worn on the wrist. The Apple Watch Series 4 has been redesigned and re-engineered to help users stay connected even more easily, be more active and manage their health in powerful new ways. The activity tracker, for example, tracks and shows the user’s daily movement in the form of three simple metrics called “Move”, “Exercise” and “Stand”, with the aim of motivating users to close these rings every day through corresponding activity. The Apple Watch can show how many minutes users have done a brisk activity and even measure the respective calorie consumption. In addition, it also reminds wearers with a gentle vibration that they should get up if they have been sitting for a long time, as too much sitting is unhealthy. The fourth-generation Apple Watch has been further refined in terms of technology, combining new hardware and software enhancements into a distinctive, unified form. The display is over 30 per cent larger and yet integrates seamlessly into the now thinner, smaller case, while the new interface provides more information with additional details. The watch offers many innovative capabilities in particular with regard to health precautions, including fall detection and the ability for users to easily create an electrocardiogram using the new ECG app.

The watch features electronic sensors that measure the user’s heartbeat and provide feedback on the daily activities, thus enabling users to realise an effective health management.
