Storage heaters are 1000w and instant are 2000w. Instant heaters heat faster compared to storage ones .Hard water is bad for heaters, good quality anode lasts longer in hard water.To compete in the market companies offer specially coated tanks, good quality anode like magnesium, aluminum which affect the buying decision.There is not much difference in features in different heaters.Since they have the same features the buying decision depends on the reputation of the companies. the best selling heaters are of the very known companies.AO Smith, Bajaj, Havells, Racold, Crompton, V guard are top heater companies in India.In western countries, they use big heaters with a capacity of 40-80+ gallons. they are generally kept in places where its unnoticeable, aesthetics is not much of a concern in these heaters since its usually at hidden or unnoticeable place.Aesthetically good heaters in the western market are tankless heaters, they heat water quickly so they don't need a tank.Some of the heaters have iot control/ app based control or remote control through which you can control heater remotely.
