By collecting environmental variables such as humidity, precipitation, and temperature, the device helps forest managers better understand the effects of climate change on forest development.

This was a jury favorite due to its friendly design and role in gathering data to help combat climate change. The excellent ergonomics make it possible to easily attach the dendrometer to the plants and trees being studied, while the backend system with its clear user interface makes light work of data generation and reading.
