Infection prevention as top priority
Ultrasound has proven to be an effective imaging modality for the clinical management of COVID-19 patients. The iViz wireless ultrasound diagnostic device with lung-scan assist function not only supports operators in the rapid diagnosis of life-threatening complications in patients such as pneumonia and pneumothorax, it also makes a decisive contribution to curbing the further spread of the virus. In addition to the housing being easy to clean, the wireless communication between the ultrasonic probe and tablet also protects against contamination, since there are no loosely hanging cables germs could adhere to and the devices can therefore be packed in protective cases for and during examinations. The ergonomic shape of the transducer ensures a secure hold, while the prominently placed controls are easy to reach and operate, even when wearing medical gloves. The intelligent user interface guides the operator step-by-step through the examination and helps in interpreting the images. Thus, a single doctor can carry out the diagnostics directly on the patient, which drastically reduces the total number of contact persons, enables particularly quick action in an emergency and significantly improves the sensible and efficient use of limited medical resources.
