Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are an important part of autonomous logistics and will play an increasingly important role in industry and intralogistics in the future. Since they drive autonomously and do not require human control, they can operate around the clock, which significantly reduces waiting and downtime. The PF3 is a 3-ton AGV that is characterised by particularly smart features and opens up new industrial application possibilities. The extremely compact AGV measures just 175 × 97 × 35 cm without superstructures with the lift unit it is 5 cm higher. Thanks to an excellent footprint-to-payload ratio, it can be used in highly confined spaces, carrying loads up to three tons and positioning them precisely (+/−5 mm) at their destination. A 45-degree tilted touch panel provides an ergonomic operating experience, while the PF3’s streamlined design increases user acceptance and allows for easy integration. Maintenance of the vehicle is facilitated by a drawer system that provides easy access to the control unit, drive unit and battery from the sides so that relevant parts can be replaced within minutes. For maximum safety, the AGV is equipped with a 360-degree safety scanner, five emergency stop buttons, a collision avoidance sensor and a surrounding LED strip. With its patented Stäubli drive unit and industrial-proof components, the PF3 offers outstanding performance in terms of productivity and total cost of ownership, contributing to a future-proof production and smart workflow. The jury distinguished the PF3 as a particularly smart product, explaining in their statement: “This automated guided transport system offers an impressive size-to-payload ratio. Equipped with intelligent technologies and thanks to its comprehensive safety package and high user-friendliness, it is a convincing solution for use in assembly lines or intralogistics. The reduced, clear design also conveys professionalism and reliability.”
