MUJI ChronotebookWinner, MUJI Design Award 02, Judges Prize
2007Chronotebook fully encapsulates what a daily planner is about: time on paper. In an elegant and minimalist manner, it frees up the clutter typical of daily planners by embracing an analog notion and representation of time.(On sale in US & Japan under MUJI.)
This is how a typical daily planner look like: the page is broken into evenly-divided, narrowly-spaced grids. Our lives, however, often do not conform to such lattices. We lead our lives as continuous, analog circles of days and nights. Some events are more important, others less so. Simply put, our lives aren't that regimental and well-planned typically.People will always (have to) write outside the lines.
So, why not have no lines? Chronotebook delivers freedom without losing the central organizing element - time. The clock (either AM or PM) is at the center of each page. That's it. You plan your activities around the clock; or simply use it to make notes, sketches and scribbles.Extremely flexible, yet intuitively organized.
