This project was completed in Airbnb + Adobe Creative Jam. It originally took us 24 hours to finish the first version. However, we didn't win the competition, and we weren't satisfied with the design. We decided to continue refining this project by doing more user research, collecting data from surveys, interviewing people, and doing user testing. After two rounds of iterations, we are finally satisfied with our result.

We first sent out a survey to collect people's travel behaviors and preferences. We received 72 responses from people in the US and China. Participants are aged from 16 years old to 51 years old. This helped us target to some problems to narrow down our topic. For example, people are interested in reading others' trip journals, but most of the participants don't want to share their journals with others.

We interviewed four people. They are two 20 years old college students who usually travel with friends and family, one 43 years old mother who usually travels with family, and one 32 years old physician who usually travels by herself.

We created three personas based on our interviews. These three types of people represent people who usually travel by themselves, with friends, or with family. We believe their travel experience and behaviors vary depending on the people they travel with.
