Every year, countless marine organisms become entangled in fishing nets or die as a result of plastic waste. There are rescue operations that help marine animals remove the ‘deadly necklaces’ from their necks, but regular scissors with low cutting efficiency can increase the risk of rescue operations.
Taking advantage of the meltability of fishing nets at high temperatures, this design incorporates a heat- cutting function into the design of the scissors, allowing the cutting process during rescue to be completed more efficiently. Furthermore, the new design for the scissors ba-sed on the physical characteristics of marine animals makes it easier to insert into the space between the rope and the animal’s skin, and guards against injury from the hot me-tal and sharp blade.
This product’s blade is connected to the heating device and power supply. The heating of the blade can be controlled with the heating bu-tton, which is located near the index finger for easy access. A rechargeable battery is housed behind the bu-tton. When not in use, the product can be charged via the USB port. To improve intuitive usability, function indicators are clearly iconised and made eye-catching.
