Plastic shoes are a major contributor to floating garbage patches in the oceans. More than 40 million plastic shoes end up in the ocean every year, and it takes hundreds of years for them to decompose fully. The new Cocolette shoes are one way to end this problem. The shoes are made from innovative materials like coconut fibers and are fully biodegradable. But they are more than just a product: the designers developed an entire brand to attract the curiosity of a young, trend-conscious audience. The brand design expresses responsibility for the environment but also happiness and fun, exactly what people are looking for today.
