The Nordic design tradition, and all of the unique attributes associated with it, is the overriding feature in the development of these functional products. The All Steel Knives and Cookware Range draws inspiration from the concept of absolute minimalism, while incorporating sophisticated details to make a bold statement about character. Company archives dating back nearly 375 years were the designers’ source of inspiration, and an intriguing 1980s product served as a model for the new series. They subtly adapted it to create a modern interpretation. Distinctive features such as the hole in the knife handle are reminiscent of the original design, while the choice of material meets today’s more exacting standards – particularly in terms of sustainability. Containing up to 90 per cent recycled steel, the All Steel Cookware has a lower carbon footprint than the industry average. The matt steel surface was also manufactured in a resource-friendly way and was finished using a water stone-grinding process. The superb functionality of this product is further evident in its excellent frying results, thanks to the Ceratec non-stick and plastic-free ceramic coating that can withstand high temperatures. A triple-layer base ensures efficient heat distribution, and the oven-safe, stainless-steel handles are easy to grip for enhanced safety. “The purist design of this stainless-steel cookware immediately communicates its robustness and quality. Even the subtlest details like the weld seam between the perfectly proportioned grips and handles and the body are the product of superb craftsmanship,” commented the jury. The matching Fiskars All Steel Knives are made from pure, premium-quality steel and are dishwasher safe, just like the cookware. To ensure an unparalleled cutting experience, the balanced grips are paired with powerful blades made from hardened Japanese steel, which is known for its uncommon durability. The harmonious, ergonomic shape promotes a natural cutting motion. “The knives are the perfect addition to this cookware series – both functionally and visually,” the jurors concluded.
