An eye-catching van
When developing the STARIA, the design team adopted the approach of completely breaking with convention and rethinking this vehicle type from the ground up. The result is a van whose pared-back look is inspired by a spaceship. Its streamlined form is defined by a single flowing line which traces a gentle arc from front to rear and is intended to evoke the curve of light that illuminates the earth’s horizon at sunrise when viewed from space. This simple elegance is followed through by the design of the front: slender daytime running lights span the entire front in the form of a light strip, while low-sitting headlights with a pixelated look bracket the wide, distinctively patterned radiator grille. The interior is distinguished by an innovative design with increased space for passengers, lowered belt line and large panoramic windows. It references the architecture of a traditional Korean hanok house, which aims to harmoniously balance the interior and exterior. The resulting sense of space is pleasant and generous, something which is heightened by the light, open interior design. Depending on the trim package, the STARIA’s interior is either functional and simple as a multipurpose van, or equipped with extras such individual multifunctional relaxation seats, ambient mood lighting and electric sliding doors.

The STARIA’s exterior is defined by its impressively minimalist design which, in combination with the futuristic lighting graphics and large radiator grille, ensures that this vehicle stands out in the crowded van market. Furthermore, the STARIA inspires with its large interior, which is full of light thanks to the large, deep-sitting windows and which features well-considered details that allow the occupants to travel in comfort.
