What should the smartphone stand look like on the table?Unlike the existing smartphone stand, 'SWAN' is used on a table, so we thought thata design that would harmonize well with the tableware culture was appropriate.To this end, we tried to give aesthetic unity by applying common formative language and materials with tableware.식탁위의 스마트폰 거치대는 어떤 모습이어야 할까?'SWAN'은 기존의 스마트폰 거치대와는 다르게 식탁 위에서 사용하는 제품인 만큼 테이블웨어문화와 잘 어우러질 수 있는 디자인이어야 한다고 생각했습니다. 이를 위해 저희는테이블웨어와 공통적인 조형 언어 및 소재를 적용하여 심미적인 통일성을 부여하고자 하였습니다.

Formative conceptIt was inspired by the shape of the spoon, which has a unique shape of tableware.We proceeded a sketch to express the shape of the spoon and also Through the mock-up study,we studied the angle and height suitable for use on the table.조형 컨셉테이블웨어만의 독특한 형태를 지니고 있는 숟가락의 조형에서 영감을 받았습니다.숟가락의 곡선을 표현하기 위한 스케치와 함께 테이블 위에서 사용하기에 적합한 각도와 높이를 스터디 하였습니다.

Understanding of material selection and productionAs the material, we wanted to use wood, metal, and ceramic, which are mainly used in tableware.Among them, a ceramic material was selected that has a low financial burden for initial productionand is easy to manufacture. To this end, we collaborated with ‘Sons Ceramic Studio’소재의 선택과 공정의 이해소재는 테이블웨어에서 주로 사용되는 나무, 금속, 자기등을 사용하고자 하였습니다.그중 초기 생산 수량 확보에 대한 부담이 적고, 제작이 용이한 세라믹 소재를 선택하였습니다.이를 위하여 슬립 캐스팅을 전문으로 하는 업체와 협업을 진행하였고,저희가 구현하고자 하였던 다소 복잡한 곡선의 모델링을 구현할 수 있었습니다.
